From the Pastor’s Heart:

October has been one of the busiest months I can remember!
Many wonderful ministries and activities have taken place.
There’s not space to mention all of the names of those who’ve worked so very hard to make
these events happen. Thanks to all those who’ve served the Lord
in various ways to make this past month a great month!

Our Rummage Sale was a great success. The monies raised were for our Hispanic Ministries.
Thanks to Valerie Farris and her crew for all of their hard work!

The PrimeTimers Appreciation Luncheon sponsored by Pastor Brad, Kari Hastings and
the Teens was well-attended and enjoyed by all who came.

Our Fall Revival with Rev. Phillip Phelps was a time of spiritual refreshing and victory.
Bro. Phelps was certainly anointed and used of God through preaching and singing.

What a great time was had by all whom attended the SCN Hayride out at Mike & Kari Hastings’ home.  Pastor Brad & a great group of Teens went out early and played almost
every imaginable sport that you can name.
The wiener roast and hayride were enjoyed by a large group of folks. The weather was perfect.
Special thanks go to Mike, Kari, Melissa, Kayla, and others who worked hard
to make the event a great success!

We enjoyed a wonderful Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Thanks go to Les Bennett, Sr.
& Joe Freeman for cooking a delicious meal. Bill Moore brought a very inspirational devotional.

We had three Outdoor Hispanic Video Services this past month. Five people were saved,
giving us a total now of twelve who have been saved at these services!  Praise the Lord!
I can’t say enough about those who have been faithful to help us with this ministry:
Rev. Gordon Ivey, Joe Freeman, Larry Little, Les Bennett, Sr., Pastor Brad Larpenteur,
Bill Dismuke, Reta Horner, Shane Horner, Rev. Giovanni & Rosa Monterossa,
Rev. Sigrid and Mr. Blandon, and others who’ve passed out flyers.

We’ve had two ESL Classes so far with four students. We will grow.
Thanks to Rev. Gordon Ivey, Cheryl Rogers, Pat Beadle, Larry Little, and Lori Hutchison for helping.

Last, but not least, I want to thank Raul & Amy Guerrero,
Teddy & Beverley Underwood, Barbara Armstrong, Bobbi Conahan
and others for the great Fall Family Fun Festival. We had a great crowd and a lot of fun!

His for the Harvest, Pastor Mack

  Teen Time / Youth Pastor:

Dear Church Family:

We’ve made it through two months of school and it already feels like it’s been decades!
October was a great month for the Youth at SCN! We started off the month with the
PrimeTimers Appreciation Luncheon where we had the esteemed pleasure of serving
some of those who have supported and loved us over the years. The next week was
Revival with Rev. Phillip Phelps, and since that Sunday night was Teen Night we spent some time afterwards
and fellowshipped together as we rode around town.
A fun time was had by all, and I learned a bit more about Sherman .
We also had our Annual Hayride this month!
The Teens got an early start out at the Hastings ’ house and played all day.
We want to say a giant thanks to the Hastings
family for hosting us!
As the month comes to an end we weren’t done.
We also took time to set up for and help out with the Family Fun Fall Festival.

November is shaping up to be another great month.
Because we believe that family is so important to the growth of Christians,
we will be setting aside time to give thanks with our families during the Thanksgiving holiday.
But because we just like to party we will be looking forward to some weddings and banquets
that will be happening over the month! We might just be able to work in our own get-together as well.

Again thank you to everyone for their prayers and support of the Youth group (and youth pastor).
We really appreciate all you do for us. Thank you for the support of our breakfast
fundraiser each week as well! You are making it a great success for us.
Keep an eye out for our Youth Shirts, too. We plan to have them available to buy very soon!

In Love,  Rev. Brad Larpenteur, SCN Youth Pastor

Missions:

We will take our Thanksgiving Offering on November 23.
If you don’t participate in Faith Promise, this is your chance to contribute to the Missions
work of the Church of the Nazarene in spreading the gospel.  Did you know…

…In some areas of the 10/40 Window, witnessing to the Christian gospel means death?
JESUS Film teams use creative evangelism tools.  In high risk areas, teams use iPods to show the JESUS Film
one-on-one.  Men and women receive Jesus as their personal Savior, and new believers join underground
churches to grow in their walk with Christ.

Thank You:
