About SCN

Sherman Church of the Nazarene is located in the northwest section of Sherman, Texas on the growing side of town. Located at 601 N. Heritage Parkway(1417) between Hwy. 56 and Washington St., God strategically placed us in this dynamic area to reach out to people of all socio-economic backgrounds. SCN is a friendly church with a great concern for people and their needs. We have ministries for people of all ages. Children are extremely important to us for we know that they are the hope for the future of the church. We have classes and activities designed just for them. We are very interested in the Teens and College/Career age groups. We have a full-time Youth Pastor who has a full program of Bible Studies, fun activities, and service opportunities for them. We have Bible Studies, activities, and service opportunities for all adults. We are thankful for the vibrant group of Prime Times who are invaluable to our church in so many ways. Some of our ministries/activities include: Prayer Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Missions(Local & Foreign), Compassionate Ministry, Music Ministry, Sunday School(for all ages), Church Camps, Canoeing, Co-ed Softball, Vacation Bible School, Fall Family Fun Festival, Children’s Easter Egg Hunt, and Drama.

We are an evangelical church in the Wesleyan tradition, believing that everyone can confess, repent of their sins, and be saved. We believe that God also provided on the Cross, a second work of grace, called entire sanctification, or being filled with the Spirit. The Holy Spirit bears witness to both of these works of grace through the Bible, His Presence, and the fruit of the Spirit as produced in a transformed life.

Sherman Church of the Nazarene has been organized, though in different facilities, since 1914. As a church, we have been able to minister to many people over the years and we would love to have you come be a part of our dynamic, Spirit-filled church! You will experience the warmth of God’s Presence and the warmth of our people from the time you step through the doors until you leave. You will find a place to serve God in His Kingdom with other people.
